Is it possible to cheat in Final Fantasy XIV?
Indeed, cheating in FFXIV is possible: There are automated farming programs called “bots” that will automatically farm Gil (gold), items and levels for you. There are also certain exploits and hacks that allow you to walk through walls, teleport, dupe items and so on. However, there are no god modes, money hacks or cooldown hacks, since those values are processed on the game server.
Cheats in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn are mostly methods of earning more Gil (money) in a shorter time or level up a lot more quickly by either using software or knowledge (exploits). Cheats also include secret crafting and merchant techniques that allow you to make huge amounts of money. Most means of cheating are undetectable, but to make sure not to be obvious when using any kind of cheat. The most popular cheating method at the moment are bots, since they work for every single class and profession in the game and are especially effective at farming and not detectable. Obviously, cheating becomes more and more necessary as you come closer to the top players in the world.
Bots or Robots are programs that will play the game for you and perform certain repetitive tasks for you fully automatically. Bots are usually going to follow a configured route and farm mobs and quests along the way. Most bots will also let you configure the routes the script will farm, so please do so. There is nothing more dangerous than using the same faming route that everyone else is using. Bots can farm mobs for XP and Gil, they can farm Levequests, Craft, Sell items, use the auction house and a lot more. There are even dedicated trading bots that can be configured to buy at certain prices and sell at others. Using a bot will require you to micromanage your bot a lot and it certainly not for everyone, but if you are really good a t it, you might amass such ingame wealth that you are even able to sell it for real money. However, even if you are only looking to get some Gil and levels, a bot will make you very happy.
Since PvP is not really an important part of Final Fantasy XIV: A Real Reborn, hacks are not as useful as they might be in other MMOs where PvP combat is more integral to the gameplay. Hacks are code that are injected into the game in order to get some very simple cheats working that will give you an edge over other human players. Hacks can let you walk through walls, run faster, display enemy positions, fly, jump really high and similar physics related things. While all these cheats are very useful in PvP, they have to be used with caution. Its alright to have an edge over other players, but it’s bad to make it obvious. Running 20% faster than others is alright. Running 200% faster is obvious and will get you reported and your account disabled, so do not do it. Also keep in mind that hacks, as opposed to bots, are detectable, so make sure your software is up to date before you run it.
In every MMORPG there are certain parts of the game that would totally ruin the game for everybody, if they could be hacked. In FFXIV:ARR Gil is a very good example of this: If one could simply run a “generator” to get unlimited money in the game, the economy would be gone and everyone would have the best gear possible. Same goes for Unlimited Health: If everyone could get a working God Mode, the game would not be fun anymore, since everyone would do it. I have actually seen this happening before. If a game has a way to achieve a God Mode, everyone will use it after about 2 weeks after discovery. – Even the people that always go to the forums to rage about cheaters. Same rule goes for items and experience. So do not believe anyone that claims to have a “hack” or “generator” that gives you gold or health or items. These values are processed on the game servers and cannot possibly be accessed or changed ever. Unless you know a developer, you are out of luck. These people are trying to scam you into filling in surveys or giving them your login data. – You have now been warned.
Is cheating legal and will my account get banned for it?
Cheating in video games is indeed legal. However, the game developers, Square Enix, have the right to ban anyone from their game for any reason and therefore we do recommend that you use quality cheating software that is up to date and undetected. It also pays to keep a low profile and be nice to the other players.
